Nova Scotia adopts the code of the CEC, so you're going to get a lot of summarized code, and as for the exceptions, you'll have to flip through the areas outlined.
Receptacles
- Not more than 12 outlets on any 2 wire branch circuit (CEC 8-304)(1)(a) or subrule 3 80%
- Rated @ 30A or more will be interlocking
- If located within 1.5m of wash basin must be GFCI rated
- Receptacles must not be faced upwards
- Receptacles exposed to weather must be GFCI protected, and the cover plate be held secure with four screws or equivalent means.
- At least one required for refrigerator, laundry room, utility room, microwave, central VAC, kitchen- 2 split max 2 per, sleep areas - ARC, outside GFCI, carport, and dryer

- Ground up, or ground down argument.
Fire Alarm - Section 32 CEC
- Will not be placed on a GFCI/AFCI protected circuit
- Circuit will have no disconnecting means
- Circuit will not be mixed with lighting and receptacles.
